People Matter Stories: The Secret to Adam’s Success as a Recruiter

Adam’s my go-to guy when I need any information about awards, rates, market conditions, payment conditions, work health and safety or compliance. He has his finger on the pulse of all those things because he’s been in the recruitment game for a long time and has extensive experience in the industry.

ADAM’S SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Before Adam joined us at Zoom Recruitment, he was the Operations Manager at another national recruitment company where he oversaw the consultants and the operational side of things. His previous position included performance management where he ensured that consultants were successfully filling roles, and also included working with HR to bring about new procedures and processes while making sure that compliance was met. At the same time, Adam was also actively recruiting for clients across a number of industries including trades, construction, chemical, manufacturing and logistics. After almost 14 years at this company, he joined us in the capacity of recruiting permanent roles across a range of industries and positions.

HOW ADAM MAKES PEOPLE MATTER:

I thoroughly enjoy my time working with Adam. He’s hard-working and is process driven – I can count on him to do everything properly. But it’s not only Adam’s experience and skillset that make him such an asset in the office, and on a larger scale, to the company. Adam is also very genuine and this comes across to clients and candidates, who tend to gravitate towards him. He draws plenty of business because people like dealing with him as a person. Adam is approachable and is definitely a giver.

Adam also has a great sense of humour and brings a light-hearted atmosphere to the office. He shows me a funny video on TikTok every day and he always attempts to lighten the mood.

Candidates, clients and co-workers have a great deal of respect for him because he is innately fair and doesn’t have a malicious bone in his body. He Makes People Matter through his honest approach because he doesn’t sugar coat things or exaggerate. So, for example, he’ll give clients an honest brief of the candidate and he’ll give the candidate an honest brief of the role. It’s his personality combined with his skills that make him such a successful recruiter.
