Supporting Our Brisbane Community Through Sport

For the 243 people who are registered to the Brisbane Central Flyers Netball Club, Zoom Recruitment has made club fees more affordable and allowed people of all financial backgrounds to participate in sport.

Our sponsorship of the Brisbane Central Flyers Netball Club came about at the start of last year when we were approached to contribute funds that would be used to keep the costs of player registration fees down. Sponsorships are essential because the netball club has a focus on being as affordable as possible so that players with all skillsets and backgrounds can enjoy netball.

Over the course of last year, Zoom Recruitment supported the purchase of equipment such as netballs, kitbags, training shirts, training cones, training bibs, drink bottles, visors, as well as contributing to the employment of more highly trained staff like coaches and umpires.

The club provides a fun and friendly environment with a focus on bringing girls and women of all ages together through the game of netball. The bottom age group has players who are 7 or 8 years old and the teams go up in age all the way to the open teams, where players are 16 and older.

Being part of this type of club is a great opportunity for developing social skills with a new group of people and gaining a friendship circle outside of a current circle of friends, plus the benefit of being fit and learning a sport.

The Brisbane Central Flyers Netball Club plays at Downey Park Netball Association where several other clubs also play across 30 different courts. Facilities like this offer an even larger opportunity within the broader community for people from all different walks of life to come together and build relationships.

I was recently able to catch up with Jack, the treasurer of the Brisbane Central Flyers Netball Club, at the Downey Park premises. Downey Park is a hub of activity over the weekend when matches are played and it hosts a vibrant, thriving community of players.

Supporting a club with equipment and trained staff reflects a good harmony between earning a profit as a company and giving back to the community. We are proud to provide the means to assist the Brisbane Central Flyers Club and to promote teamwork in the community.
